The Centre for Air Power Studies was established in October 2001 under an independent, non-profit, non-governmental trust registered in New Delhi titled Forum for National Security Studies under the existing regulations of US 12A. Income Tax clearances, including tax exemption for contributions and donations under Section 80/G (5) (VI) of IT Act were issued in May 2003. The Trust has been established to undertake and promote policy-related research, study and discussion on problems of national security and defence in the evolving strategic and international security environment
